5'6" tall, Lady Amitabh---Vijaya Shanthi---was born on 24th June, 1966 in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh and brought up in the Madras. Vijaya Shanthi's aunt Vijaya Lalita was also a popular Telugu actress. Vijaya Shanthi started her movie career when she was 7 years old but became a heroine only after the Tamil film director, Bharathi Raja, discoverd her.

Vijayasanti's first Telugu film was Kilaadi Krishnudu, in which she acted against the Telugu superstar, Krishna in 1986. But Telugu audiences noticed her only after the Late T.Krishna's movie Neti Bhaaratham.

She acted not only in Telugu and Tamil movies but also in Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam movies. She was cast as a heroine opposite almost all mega actors. She also won a National award and several regional awards.

She is now a politician and is the vice president of BJP’s women wing Akhila Bharati Mahilal Morcha.
